Our Lenten worship will continue on Wednesday evenings, as each week we will share a meal and worship with our neighboring United Methodist brothers and sisters in Christ. We will explore ways of making peace in our lives and in our world. Faith UMC raises more than $25,000 for the fight against malaria

With many generous gifts from our church family, Faith United Methodist Church was able to contribute more than $25,000 to the "Imagine No Malaria" campaign sponsored by the national church. Because the church was able to make this donation by year-end, it was matched 100 percent by an anonymous donor to the Minnesota Conference of the United Methodist Church.

This is a great gift from a relatively small church such as Faith UMC, and because of faithful people across the state, the Minnesota Annual Conference was able to exceed its goal by 22 percent by raising more than $2.2 million by year-end.

Our efforts are highlighted in this article on the church's General Conference website.

Help serve a community meal ...

Faith volunteers will serve the Northeast Community Meal on St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17, at Faith UMC. If you'd like to volunteer to provide food and/or time, please sign up in the Commons. We need volunteers to do preparation and cleanup work. Please contact Nancy Kruse if you would be willing to plan and cook the Northeast Community Meal on that date.

... or assist at Simpson Shelter

Faith UMC is scheduled to serve a hot meal at the Simpson Shelter in south Minneapolis on three more Sundays during 2012: March 4, November 4 and December 2. Volunteers prepare the meal at the church, and then at 6 p.m. the meal is taken to the Simpson Shelter, where it is served. Generally eight to 10 volunteers are needed for serving the meal; we're generally finished by 8:30 p.m.. We are asking for home-made dessert bars so we can provide an extra treat to those who utilize this program. Contact Amy Neuswanger at 651-635-0576 if you are interested in serving, or sign up on the volunteer sheets in the church's Commons.
